Birthday buzz
This one is dedicated to my own b’day. I’d as nice a b’day as I could wish for. Got some lovely things and moments I’ll always treasure
Only thing I missed is, presence of daddy. It would have been even better if he was here with me. I just love his presence.
Anyways, talking the very date of my b’day, I spent almost the entire day receiving phone calls, eating food made by mommy & then had some nice chitter chatter with mommy & chandramani bhaiya. Ah!! how can I foreget, chandramani bhaiya got me Chocolates as soon as I got up. In the evening, all of us, mummy, chandramani bahiya, me & fourth person (some relative of chandramani bhaiya) I dont remember his name had lovely dinner at a restaurant (again I forgot the name, loss !!!). Courtesy chandramani bhaiya for the lovely dinner. He dint let my mother pay for it, so nice of him
. One day later, before leaving my mother got me lots of stuff as b’day present
Two days after the date, we get a cake at hbcse for the formality of celebration. Now best thing about this part of cake ceremony, we got a cake which was already cut. So no nonsense of cake cutting & people clapping around me & singing b’day song for me. And so I loved the simple cake treat without taking the embarrasement of cutting it. I’d a special moment here which I’ll always treasure. Thankfully, the moment is captured. Courtesy prajakt for the snap, I take it as a gift (a nice one).
Now long after the day, a gift comes my way from Shweta & Omkar. A gift, I’ll treasure my entire life. A white (my favorite color) T-shirt, with Zendagi Migzara imprinted on it. Oh !!! I could not believe my eyes for a moment when I opened the packing. It touched my heart & soul. So thoughtful of my pals. But more than the gift, I aprreciate the fact that they know it so well as what could be impressive & touchy to you. Of all the clothes I’ve, till date Google shirt which I got for GSoC 2008 use to be most dear to me. Now I am confused as which one is more dear, this Zendagi Migzara shirt or Google shirt. I’ve to accept, these two words “Zendagi Migzara” means a lot to me. Ever since I read “The Kite Runner”, this has always been my Gtalk status message. Guess changed it a few times for a day or two, but then again switched back to it very soon. As one can also notice, my blogs are also titled the same. And now I also have a Zendagi migzara shirt. Yepieee !!! mogali’s heart felt thanks to Omi & Shweta
, my two dear friends. I just enjoy being with them coz we so freely talk nonsense all the time pulling each others leg, specially shweta’s (our all time favorite bakra). There is no stop to our useless chit-chat, and we laugh together at every silly joke we share.
P.S: (Special for Shweta & Omkar) Obviously the gift is lovely but I treasure the moments spent with you two more than this gift. Though there is no physical existence of it; the love, fun & friendship that we share, will always remain in my heart. Time that you give me is over anything materialistic. Cheers to our friendship

Roadies 2009
One more life time experience!!! Life is always anomalous and thats how rodies is. Yes I got to participate in rodies
Take it easy …… not in the one hosted by MTV, but in the one held by my college. Believe me, in any respect it was no less veritable than the one on MTV.
It is a three weeks play, and I got to play upto the second week of it. First week was very exciting with awesome fun & was very tiring too. First day was a three rounds game. We started with 20 teams in all, each with 4 members comprising of 2 guys and 2 gals. Of all the 3, first round was the most nerve wracking. We had to take a complete round of our own college ground passing all the obstacles inbetween (better not to be mentioned in detail here
). After finishing with the breath taking round, we had to drink a small cup of vinegar. Yuck ! I still feel it in my troat. I literally vomitted there. Thankfully shweta, my saviour was there to save my bacon. So ended the very first breath taking round of roadie, we being completely saturated with mud.
Now starts the second round of the day. Unfortunately/fortunately our teams were deformed. Got acquainted with 2 new people Nikhil and Jaya, who were my team mates for the round. One of the member (Dutta) is my class-mate, so not a new face to me. We all had to play football with 3 legs. Though I still have the rashes of the rope on my leg, enjoyed playing
Then comes the last and final deciding round of the day, mano-a-mano “wrestling”. Worst of it was that U’d to stand against your team mate. With all the hullabaloo around, it was great fun unless you were not in the ring. Finally I was there, and with all the zeal and embarrassment, I made it over Jaya & to the day 2 as well. And so, out of all the 80 participants 40 made up to the day 2.
After a week, we all gathered for day 2. Mentally & physically, I was not at all ready for it. But once it started, I don’t know from where I regained all the energy and enthusiasm. And here was the new day with new teams in the roadie. This time team comprised of 3 members. So I’d Dhiraj and one more guy from engg. section, oops I forgot his name
Anyways we had good coordination n so I enjoyed playing with them. Day 2 had 4 rounds in all.
First task of the day, we were supposed to frame the given sentences using any pamphlets, posters n any other scraps but not the new papers, magagines or books. Without thinking of anything I ran to the hostel, direct to my room. Ha ha !! and as expected got lots of scrap stuff from there. My other partners ran to the opposite direction n snatched some posters from here n there. N yes we got 6 out of ten sentences formed, not bad
Second task of the day, we had to click photographs of all weird stuff…. key maker, knife sharpner, donkey, towing, guy in red pant, banyan tree, sweepers, kids in school uinform (mind it the event was on sunday) and a few more things which I don’t remembar now. Point to be noted here, 2 of the team members had to be there in all these pics n all to be done within 1 n half an hour. Had real fun on the run
Third task of the day, two members perform one task at gnound floor & one member has to do some task alone on the fourth floor of the building. I choose to go up & the remaining two of my mates decide to stay back at ground floor. So at ground floor, one of the two members had to submerge their head in bucket full of water & the other member had to eat toast during that time. One is allowed to eat as long as your partner manages to keep his/her head in water. So to pocket more points gulp down more toasts & be air deprived. Now upstairs on the fourth floor, you were tied to a chair with four locks in a pitch dark room & you had only 2 minutes time to free yourself. N yes I managed to free myself
Now fourth n final task of the day, you have to collect human nail. Weirdest thing I’ve ever done in my life so far. Just go asking people for their nails even if you don’t know them. But lots of drama n fun involved in that too
All in all, had a gala time
Now waiting for the wednesday, when only one of 11 finalists will be bestowed as “Roadie”. All the best to Omi & Seema, who are in the finals now.
Happy Birthday Gauri !!!
One more year gone by … As its Gauri’s (Girl living in my neighbour room) b’day today, last day of 2008 starts with her b’day celebration. We had a big time
All worked according to the plan and we successfully made her have bath in the midnight. Hostel life, the midnight celebrations and feasts are too much of fun. I’ll miss this part of my life (golden days of my life). I realise I’ve double the energy and enthusiasm doing something destructive and messy than what I normally have.
The grand successful celebration starts with normal cake cutting as in any other b’day and ends up with an unusual complete mess. Ghhhhhh after it all, with all that cake cream, sauce and curd Gauri stinked like anything. Ahh and how can I forget the closing ceremony, best of it all. All of us on cleaning mission, aishwarya takes the charge of washroom cleaning, sweet chingi poo cleans all the utensils and I do all the cleaning of the room. Poor Gauri who dont even turn up to bath during summer days, had to have bath in the midnight of december
